It’s God!

When God spoke to me about putting together a retreat for women, I said, “Lord, what do I know about a woman’s retreat?” That was pretty much how my prayer went for several days!

But God brought an incredible group of women together as others joined me to pray, fast, and organize that retreat. One woman wondered whether the brochures promoting the event were good enough. They were certainly not up to our usual standard. But, they were free!

However, the Holy Spirit seemed to confirm to me, “Paper doesn’t draw people to God. God does the drawing!” And He sure did!

Women were restored to spiritual health; families were put back together—it was an amazing weekend.

Are you ready to win? Let God work miracles through you!

This is Thelma Wells with love and hugs to you!

You’ve heard the old saying, “It’s more blessed to give than to receive. . .” Well, maybe you need to rethink that!
I have a little different take on receiving!
When someone gives you a gift of a smile, a friendly handshake, a card, an email, even an object or money—how do you feel? I feel happy, delighted, humble, and sometimes embarrassed. But I always feel blessed because someone may be following God’s prompting, obeying His direction, and I’m the joyful recipient of their obedience!
The giver is wishing God’s favor and goodness on me. It’s what I call the blessing in receiving! Luke 6:38 says, “Give and it will be given to you. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you!”
Are you ready to win? To win a blessing!
This is Thelma Wells with love and a big hug!

But I sensed God saying, “Thelma! What did I tell you?” “Okay God!” I reached back into my purse and gave $100 to the evangelist.
Less than a week later, I opened some mail. It was $100 from a friend who sent it to me “for no particular reason!” God showed me what I choose to do really does matter to Him. And He will honor my obedience. Is it dollar for dollar? That’s not the point! It was my act of obedience to His nudging! It’s the blessing in giving and receiving! Are you ready to win?

A blessing is “wishing God’s favor and goodness on someone else!” And I admit, I love being blessed. A woman once approached me in an airport and asked, “Are you the woman of God?” I didn’t have any delusions of a particularly holy glow about me; I knew she recognized me from my TV program of that name. She said, “You’ve blessed me and my daughter.” After a few moments, her daughter took off her sparkling bracelet and fastened it on my wrist. She said, “The Lord told me to bless you with this gift!” It sure did! I wear that bracelet with the spirit of love and respect in which it was given.

Are you ready to bless others?

I tried hard to be a brave little girl, but when I closed my eyes at night—it was all about monsters and scary things! I was hopelessly afraid.

I loved “Daddy” Harrell—my great-grandfather. One day he said, “I want you to do three things. Close your eyes. Repeat the Lord’s Prayer and Psalm 23 one after the other without stopping until you’re not afraid anymore. And believe that God will make those monsters go away.”

I was so scared, but I did what he said. It worked and I’ve never forgotten it! Daddy Harrell knew I needed to trust in God; to trust in God’s Word and God’s promises.

Are you ready to win? Win over your fears? Your monsters? You can!

This is Thelma Wells with lots of love and hugs to you!

As a mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and business woman, life balance is imperative. All work and no play make us a pain in the neck. So, I attempt to have a flexible system that I’m comfortable with.

I use a calendar for my personal as well as business appointments to keep from overlapping. I usually think a week ahead to plan the week. Each day of the week is tentatively designated for an event or appointment of the same kind. For example, Monday is catch up day from the week before and a planning for the week; Tuesday is radio interviews or the gazebo Bible Study with special lunches; Wednesday is beauty shop, running errands day; Thursday is study for presentations day; Friday, Saturday are usually travel and speaking days; Sunday is church, unless I’m traveling.

This does not always work according to schedule but I try to stay focused on what I need to do, and when. During these days I remain flexible and allow time for changes, cancellations, rotations and redefining anything that needs to fit elsewhere in my schedule. Most of the time, I never get perturbed about schedule interruptions. I remain calm.

On my annual calendar are family event days, holidays and special days for my family. Remembering the order for my life is imperative too. Christ first, my family next, and my career (work) last.

The most important time of my day is early in the morning when I’m concentrating and communicating with God about my day and thanking Him for allowing me to see a new day. I quote this prayer a lot, “Lord, open the doors I need to walk through today and close the doors I don’t. Get people out of my way today that I don’t need to talk to and put people in my way that I do. And Lord, please don’t let me waste time!” I find that I have time to add in cooking, light cleaning and washing when I settle down and do what needs to be done without frustration and anxiety.

Hello Darlings,

We have just enjoyed our first excursion in Branson, MO, and it was a weekend to remember. There were only eight of us there but, my goodness, I got an opportunity to mentor one-on-one and God did a major work in everybody’s life. You have to be there to gain the essence of these round-table talks. In fact, we’re changing the name of the excursions to Thelma Wells’ Kitchen Table Talks. We sit as a family around a table and have our sessions and during the weekend I set aside time for those who want to talk to me individually. What a blessing!

We’re headed to New York City this month and San Diego, CA, next month…so just go to the website at www.thelmawells.com and click on conferences and excursions from the homepage. We are also preparing to go to the Bahamas too and there will be some exciting events there too.

For those of you who plan to come to the 5th Annual Picnic at the Lake on September 4, registration is closing when I get 70 people. This year will be different from any other year because I have a special feature that includes men. That’s all I’m going to say about this, except that you are going to miss an adventure of a lifetime if you are not there!

Do you know that you can be a part of the Gazebo/Gallery Bible Studies directly from your computer for FREE? Yes, log on to the live streaming studies from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. on the days of the Bible study and watch it from wherever you are. Let your friends and family know about this added availability.

Don’t forget to watch the “Bee the Best with Thelma” television program every Wednesday morning at 10:30 EST on the NRB, Channel 378 on Direct TV. Also check your time and channel for this program on Sky Angel. When you get your weekly and monthly newsletters from me, please scroll all the way down on the page to see all the news for that edition. Some of you are missing the announcements because you are not clicking on all the tabs and programs.

I need 200 people to become a monthly partner with A Woman of God Ministries. If you can give a tax deductible contribution of $15.00 or more, it would be a tremendous help in spreading the Word of God throughout the world. Any gift is appreciated and prayers for the minister are essential. Please help us in the efforts to get the most reliable and accurate Word of God to the masses because Jesus is coming back and we must get the word out by whatever means we can. The easiest and most reliable way to contribute is through PayPal from the DONATE BUTTON on the website.

Have a peaceful and joy-filled week.

Mama T

If you’ve got a storm going in your life—and that’s all you’re concentrating on—watch out!

I found myself in one place while my bags were in another. And I was supposed to speak that evening! No change of clothes, no make up—nothing! And I was feeling very whiny. I need my bag! But as I started to panic further, I remembered Jesus’ words: “Don’t be anxious for anything!” He’s got it under control. My attitude calmed. I smiled! And when I went to the airline counter, they’d located my luggage.

As I looked at others in line, I could hear cursing, loud talking, arguments with the clerks, and I thought, “Lord, thank you. That was almost me!” Thanks be to God for His Word when I needed it most!

When the storm winds start to blow, don’t be anxious. Even if he doesn’t calm the storm, he can calm YOU!

Love and hugs from Mama T!

Hebrews 6:18 says, God can’t lie! It just isn’t in His nature. No matter how many promises God makes, they are all “yes” in Christ. [beautiful!]

I’m telling you this to encourage you! To build you up! To give you hope!

God keeps His word. Do this today! Read 2 Corinthians 1:20: “God anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come!” Will you do that? When you do—you’re a person ready to win—for God’s glory!

God’s Word either works in your life—or it doesn’t! It’s really your choice. He is steadfast.

Let me just say, in my speaking career I’ve made all kinds of concessions to attend certain events, checked several times to make sure I was on target—and then I’d “arrive!”—just to find out the meeting I was to participate in had been canceled. On more than one occasion, I nearly went ballistic!

“Don’t you realize what I gave up?” I’d think to myself. “What I did to make sure I’d be here?”

So, I’d pray: “Lord, help me keep my mind on pure and righteous things. Help me realize the storms cease more quickly when I trust in You. While I speak peace to others—speak peace to me!”

And you know what? He did. Isaiah admitted in 26:3, “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he (and I!) trusts in You!”

Are you ready to win over the situations in life that cause you to nearly go ballistic? Turn to God; he’s in control of it all….including your peace!

Love and hugs to you today from Thelma Wells~
